I think this is key. There can't be many of us who haven't been
through this infrastructure/copyright/just-do-it vs standards/flawed
models debate before (at least once), but nothing will change while
it's just us sitting below senior management levels arguing or
agreeing amongst ourselves.
Does anyone forward these threads to their managers, curatorial
departments or their CEOs? Is anyone in a position to check that
their institution isn't writing yet more
institution-rather-than-user-focused build-another-infrastructure
proposals while we're busy tweeting?
Do we need to create some guidelines for 'reality checking your big
digitisation project'? What would we do with them anyway? How do we
get the ears of the people making decisions about devising and funding
these projects?
