The aim of this workshop is to help participants develop a more flexible approach to
problem solving. Over the course of the day you will be working through the stages of the
problem solving process – this is particularly effective if delegates are using a
problem that is real. Therefore before the workshop could you review any problems,
opportunities or situations that are causing you concern and choose one that you would
like to work on during the workshop.

Comments from pervious attendees on courses run by Deborah Dalley
“I think Deborah Dalley is a really excellent trainer. She’s very clear about what
she wants to get across and humorous, too. She seemed to take a genuine interest in the
participants’ work roles and adapted her examples and explanations accordingly.”
Moving into management 1 - Leading and motivating a team
“I thought the course was excellent. Splitting in to small groups to discuss problems
was very effective and less intimidating for some staff; also time to consider problems
individually was great preparation. Deborah also provided plenty of handouts that we could
take away which is really useful in helping to recall information etc. It was a varied
mixture of learning, group work, individual, reflective and brain storming.”
Handling difficult conversations
“Most of all I am thankful to Deborah Dalley who is able to draw our attention to
techniques that can improve the way we run our day-to-day work. Again this was a very good
course by Deborah who is excellent in keeping the discussion alive and the sessions
interesting.”
