The Credit Crunch and Libraries: managing in difficult times

In the current financial climate most libraries are facing the impact of the credit crunch. The 2009 ALISS AGM will focus on discussing the issues and possible practical steps that can be taken
Presenters will include representatives from UK funding bodies, suppliers and practising librarians who will each give their different perspective on strategies to face the challenges with resilience.
* National licensing in a time of economic uncertainty: JISC Collections response to the economic & financial crisis - Liam Earney Collections Team Manager, JISC Collections.
* Time to talk - how EBSCO is helping its customers survive the current pressures on their budgets- Julie Boyd-Reynolds, Corporate Sales Manager EBSCO
* Collection evaluation techniques for academic libraries- Sally Halper, Lead Content Specialist - Business & Management, British Library
The speakers will share their experiences and there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
The afternoon will begin with a buffet lunch from12.30-1.30, followed by the AGM and then the main presentations. It will end at approximately 4.30pm.
This event is free to all ALISS members
Non-members may attend at a fee of £20.00 but may not vote during the AGM
