Dear colleagues, Re the correspondence on charging. Interlending and
Document Supply has carried a couple of articles on UK charging in
universities, the last being Pat Clinton in 1999 - Vol 27 No 1. I would be
interested in hearing from anyone who would be interested in carrying out
some systematic research on this issue. (Questionnaire etc). All the best
Mike

Subject: Charging Academics for ILL articles
Hi Everyone,
Can University libraries please let me know if you charge academics for
requesting journal articles? If so, how do you do this? Cash payment?
Invoice department/faculty? Do the Faculties purchase so much ILL
credit each year?
I'm also interested to know if any of you exempt academics and only
charge students.
I'm looking into the way we charge for requested journal articles at
BCU.
Academics here are not happy about the 25p per article charge we make at
the point the request is put in.
I will summarize any replies I get for the list
Thanks
