Hi Majella
British Library are currently investigating and testing this product to offer as an alternative - possibly with the long term view to migrating to it for all SED business. But that's the future. The reports from France and Germany where it has been their standard method of delivery for several years are very encouraging - so perhaps, at last, maybe, we will have a stable and less fraught process.
We, the ILL community that is, are currently waiting for BL team to invite some of us to test the system - it was suggested at the FIL@BLDSC day at the beginning of March that this would happen by mid-April. I would suggest you wait for a month or two to allow BL to make progress as I am not sure about compatibility between the current system and Fileopen.
Cheers
Graham

Can I check please if other Institutions have used or are investigating the use
of File Open as an alternative to Adobe Digital Editions for downloading British
Library SEDs. We are currently considering this and would appreciate the
benefit of your experience.
Thanks very much, Majella
