Hi Dawn,
My name is Adam Rusbridge, the UK LOCKSS Alliance Coordinator. I
suspect you will be familiar with LOCKSS already but thought I would
get in touch to point you towards recent documents and developments.
You may have been familiar with the UK LOCKSS Pilot Programme, led by
the Digital Curation Centre. Information on the project is available
online at: http://www.dcc.ac.uk/lockss/pilot. However, perhaps more
useful to you will be the two associated JISC-funded reports that were
released last year:
Last year's JISC funded comparison of e-Journal Archiving Services:
A Comparative Study of e-Journal Archiving Solutions (May 2008), Terry
Morrow, Neil Beagrie, Maggie Jones, Julia Chruszcz
http://www.jisc-collections.ac.uk/media/documents/jisc_collections/reports/e_journals_archiving_%20solutions_report_final_080518.pdf
Last year's evaluation of the UK LOCKSS Pilot Programme:
Evaluation of the JISC UK LOCKSS Pilot, May 2008, Pete Dalton and Dr
Angela Conyers, Evidence Base

The UK LOCKSS Alliance is now going ahead as a national membership
organisation supported by EDINA at the University of Edinburgh. The
current EDINA webpage on LOCKSS (soon to be relaunched and revised):
http://edina.ac.uk/lockss/
In addition, we are about to circulate some short promotional
literature to a number of UK librarians. I wonder if it would be
useful for me to include you in forthcoming circulations?
I hope this is useful. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any
questions.
Best regards,
Adam
