Fully Funded Studentships at Loughborough University
Loughborough University is offering a number of PhD research studentships for three years commencing October 2009. At least two of the studentships will be for PhD students studying in the area of information science. These awards, which are available for UK/EU applicants, will be offered on a fully-funded basis. The UK/EU university tuition fee will be paid and recipients will also receive a tax-free stipend at the EPSRC standard rate (£12940 in 2008/9). It is expected that applicants will have either a first class honours or a good upper second class degree in a subject relevant to their research proposal.
The Department of Information Science, which has a thriving PhD community, will consider applications from all information science subject areas. However, it is particularly interested in applications in the following areas:
* Exploring the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of current information stewardship policy and practice and their relevance in the curation of digital information.
* Physiological determination of email stress levels in employees.
* Knowledge management in the SME sector
