Thanks for the reply, Sophia. I figured that DRIVER was aiming at
scholarly works, but the home page reads:
"...to build a network of freely accessible digital respositories [sic]
with content across academic disciplines"
No mention of scholarly works. So perhaps what mildly got my goat was
the implicit assumption that "digital repositories" necessarily means
'repositories with scholarly content'. As the (reluctant) admin of a
learning object repository and e-learning practitioner/developer, I know
that repositories with e-learning content are increasing in number and
importance, even if they're nowhere near as important as scholarly
works. Not to mention all the image and 'digital asset' repositories out
there. "Digital" encompasses more than academic works... ;-)

sparked a long discussion.)
