Apologies for cross posting. Just wanted to remind list members about this
event, which still has a few free places available.
Best wishes,

Event Overview
Institutional repositories are created and developed to support the
requirements of a diverse user group. A successful repository translates
these requirements into features and functionality, making a flexible and
user-friendly interface for IR users. This event will explore the different
aspects of dealing with user requirements and is aimed at non-technical
staff who need to communicate with both users and technical colleagues or
external partners to make their repository reflect user requirements.
- A workshop on how to capture user requirements and then communicate those
requirement to technical staff
- Case studies showing how others have worked with and developed their user
requirements
- A technical perspective on user requirements
- A workshop looking at requirements from the user perspective – what do you
want when you are the user?
There will also be time in the day to network with other IR staff and with
the speakers.
More details and updates can be found via the event wiki
http://user-requirements.wikispaces.com/
.
This event is free and open to all UK HEI staff, though preference will be
given to SUE project staff if the event is over subscribed.
Who should attend?
The events are aimed at staff who are either setting up an institutional
repository (IR) or are already running an IR and are wanting to develop
their repository further. The programme aims to support IR staff with
practical sessions from people working in relevant fields and also to
facilitate networking among the UK HEI repositories community.
