It is now 3 working days to the end of the 2008/09 NHS year, and
practices in my PCT (Bedfordshire) have still not received any of the
2008/09 DESs - apart from the one year heart Failure DES.
We are confident of achieving the Ethnicity DES this year.
Does anyone know whether it is *legal* for a PCT to fail to offer DESs
in the year to which they are supposed to apply, and whether it would be
possible to sign up to a DES for this year after April 1st - so in the
next financial year?
I'm told that in my neighbouring PCT (Luton) they received offers for
the alcohol and osteoporosis DESs last Friday (20 3 09) for the 2008/09
year: they haven't, AFAIAA, received offers for the Ethnicity or
Learning Disability DESs.
Any ideas on how to proceed welcome - and yes, we are talking to the LMC
and they are talking to the PCT: I don't know whether anyone is talking
to the SHA.

PS we still have our turn-around CEO.
