In 2009-10 the German section at the University of Edinburgh will be awarding (subject to final approval of applicants by the AHRC) *two PhD studentships* and *one Masters studentship* in German Studies, Comparative Literature (with German), or European Theatre (with German).
Specialist supervision is available on medieval, early modern, 18th-century, 19th-century, modernist, contemporary, Austrian, and German-Jewish topics, and on topics relating to Romanticism, memory, the Holocaust, the GDR, censorship, gender studies, prison writing, violence, and terrorism, and cheery topics too ...
Special collections include the Karin McPherson GDR library, the Eudo C. Mason collection of children's literature in the National Library, and the literary histories collection.
