Hi all,
I'm writing in behalf of a friend of mine atendding to a PHD program at the
department of development economics and economic development. The main
concern of her study is the role of disabled people in the production
processes. In her terms, in theoretical part of her study, she focuses on
the process of capital acumulation. in the empirical part she aims to do a
field study with employers, disabled workers and the labor unions. Up to
now, one of the findings of the field work in Turkey is that the Labor
Unions in Turkey almost ever overlook the problems regarding disabled people
workers. She wants to have a look at the European Labor Unions especially
the unions in european countries in which the labor class have efective and
crutial rights . In this regard, her questions which she wants me to pass to
the list are:
1. Do you have any suggestion for me to read for examining the unions'
position regarding employment of disabled people?
2. Do the unions include special articles in their constitutions
concerning disabled people employees?
3. Do the union agents in the working places have sufficient knowhow
to solve the problems to which the disabled people employees face?
Any help or suggestion is warmly appreciated.
All the best,
Cagri Dogan, in behalf of Magdule Demircioglu
