Craig and the ACB-It WG:
I would urge the ACB-IT-WG to consider its reviatlization. I first learned
of the group in 1999 at an AACC AM. Jay Jones, a prior AACC LISMID Chair
has participated in your events while I have mostly followed by listserve
email. Nverthless youer listserve has been quite informative and useful in
my work to follow informtics standards for the AACC LISMID. I believe that
much more joint AACC/ACB work in the informatics issues would be very
beneficial to the clinical lab disciplines world-wide. I continue to work
to inform the informatics folks applied to healthcare here in the US about
your efforts. The EHR utilization issues in the UK can and should better
benefit healthcare here in the US. The key is cross-disciplinary
collaborative efforts world-wide; the US has much to learn and benefit
from. I urge the leaderts of the ACB IT-WG to contact our current LISMID
Chair Joanna Baker and Immediate Past Chair Al Jekelis to begin
dialog;meeting couls be held at the upcoming July 2009 AACC/CSCC Meeting
in Chicago. I will work to contribute where beneficial.
