Hi all
I thought list members might be interested to know that, following a £250,000 renovation, we have just reopened "Science Oxford Live", our public venue on St Clement's in Oxford. The refurbishment was carried out by Haley Sharpe Design, and took just over two months. During this time we moved the interactive science area from the first floor to the ground floor, and stocked it with a set of completely renovated exhibits. At the same time we moved the presentation area upstairs, put in new AV and IT equipment, and (as of the end of the month) we will be webcasting all of our events live on www.scienceoxford.com.
Our events now include new strands such as Science in the News, looking at events that have been making the headlines in the past month; Science Incorporated, exploring the links between science and industry; and Science ABC, an introduction to basic scientific concepts for those with little or no training in the subject. These will run alongside our regular programme of events and activities for adults and families.
What with one thing and another, this is a pretty exciting time for us here and so we'd like to invite you to come and have a look around our lovely new space. On Saturday 28 March we will be holding a launch day which will be free for anyone to come and have a look around: if any list members are planning on coming down then they can get in touch and I'll try and catch up with them on the day.
Yours
Dom
