Subject: [ORG-action] Demand your MEP rejects copyright term extension
The term extension proposal threatens our musical culture, which
depends on the creative reuse of past works, as well as innovation and
the fading public respect for copyright.
Most MEPs still don't see the huge risk to the public domain, to the
music business and to our cultural heritage that is posed by the term
extension directive, not least because they didn't seek any real
evidence.
The vote is on *23 March* - less than two weeks away - so it is vital
you write to them *now*. Receiving more letters from more concerned
constituents is the only way to encourage them to at least give the
proposal some proper thought. Especially if you follow up with a phone
call to their office!
It's down to you - their constituents and voters - to tell them why
the proposal for an incredible 95 years of monopoly control must be
rejected. The simplest way is sending them a letter. Take action now
using:

PS When you've done, take a look at
http://www.soundcopyright.eu/badges - put these snazzy buttons on your
blogs and tell your communities about Sound Copyright.
