Rowdy,
Sad news indeed, but thanks for letting us know.
I've copied this reply to David Warren - Holland.

Subject: [EFTC] Sad News
Sad news reaches me today of the death of Mick Hurley (originally from
Glasgow) in St. Mary's Hospital Paddington. Cause of death was liver
failure and the speculation is that he contracted Hepatitis C during the
1960s.
Mick was an early graduate of Phoenix House in London in the early 1970s
which must make him one of the very first cohort or near to. He spent some
time with us in Manchester in the late 1970s but after that we lost touch.
As usual, I'd appreciate any memories, recollections etc. I'm sure some of
the early Phoenix folks on the list will remember him and the current
Phoenix folks should remember him too!!
I'm not sure if Dave Warren-Holland is still a list-member? Dave would
certainly remember Mick who was a really nice guy.
The funeral is to be at Kensal Green Crematorium, London, at midday on 7th
February. I understand that he had very little or no contact with his
family so it will be just friends.
