Dear Space Syntax Mailing List,
I am currently studying new housing developments in various cities across
the UK. Our research also considers the nearby area which I have limited
to a 2km radius around the development.
Part of the data I am collecting is integration levels at the global and
local levels. In order to measure these I have been drawing axial maps of
the housing developments and the nearby area (2km radius) with a further
2km buffer zone (ie. a 4km radius from the housing development in the
centre) to combat edge effect. From my reading I think this is sufficient,
do others agree?
I have been using depthmap to analyse the maps at r=n and r=3 integration.
I am now concerned that I should be doing radius radius analysis but it is
unclear to me how to do it in Depthmap. Help!
many thanks,
Morag
