Description: As part of the wider library team the post assists in the provision
of an inter-library loan service and comprehensive enquiry service This post
provides most of the day-to-day routine tasks that underpin the provision of a
library service including providing technical assistance and training to users,
answering a range of enquiries and managing the library issue desk, as well as
providing general administrative support.
Although based at Gartnavel General, you will also provide remote library
support to staff on the Vale of Leven site. You should have five good GCSE or
equivalent passes, good keyboard skills and experience with Microsoft Office
applications, experience in the use of the Internet and experience within any
customer service environment. You will have attainment of, or working
towards the European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent and SVQ level 3
or equivalent in Library and Information Science or at extensive experience
within a library environment.
