Assistant Records Manager, Parliamentary Archives
C2 Salary Band· £22,500 - £26,525 (grading review pending)
The Parliamentary Archives provides records management and archives
services to the House of Commons and House of Lords. This post offers an
excellent opportunity to participate in almost every aspect of the records
lifecycle.
The post is offered initially as a nine month fixed term appointment with the
possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Reporting to the Parliamentary Records Manager, the post will contribute to
the day-to-day running of records management services for Parliament, and
will also provide support for Freedom of Information and Data Protection work
within the House of Lords.
You will promote good practice in records management at all levels in both
Houses of Parliament; provide advice and training; contribute to the
development of guidance, the corporate classification scheme and our
retention schedules; assist with records management audits; receive, appraise
and process incoming records.
You should have a recognised qualification, or comparable experience; a sound
understanding of current records management issues; a knowledge of and
interest in Data Protection and Freedom of Information; experience of
teamworking; excellent communication and presentation skills, excellent all-
round IT skills; and also the ability to take the initiative and work to deadlines.
