The position is for three years, starting on 1 October 2009
Applications are invited for the position of postdoctoral research
assistant to work with Dr. K. Malik and Prof. J. Lidsey in the area of
theoretical cosmology. The applicant will work in particular on
aspects of cosmological perturbation theory. Experience in the
cosmology of the early universe and/or numerical solutions of the
field equations would be an advantage.
The Astronomy Unit at Queen Mary has active research groups in
cosmology, space plasma physics, solar and stellar physics, planetary
formation, solar system dynamics, and galaxies, covering both
observation and theory. The Unit has access to major excellent local
computational facilities, including a new cluster of 800 computational
cores, bench-marked at 4.5 Teraflops.
The position is available for 36 months starting on the 1st October
2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in
the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1999.
