Dear Alishbah Syed,
The Annual DRE conference should give you some idea of what is going on: For
once it is not that expensive!

Psychiatry and emancipation (flyer appended above) is concerned with history
of 'liberation' from medical models and racism. This is free just an evening
affair.
The Transcultural Psychiatry Society (UK) is planning a meeting in July the
mark its (voluntary) demise having being the main campaigning group during
the 1980s and 1990s. It will be advertised on this list I hope.
Race Equality Foundation website is worth keeping an eye on:
http://www.reu.org.uk/
The Transcultural Psychiatry special interest group site of Royal College
may have something:
http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/college/specialinterestgroups/transculturalpsychiat
ry.aspx#events
My website may note conferences of interest in 'race' and Culture (if I get
round to editing the news section! But anyway you may get some ideas from
looking at it: <http://www.sumanfernando.com>
As far as I know there no central place you could get info from. There
should be!
Best wishes and I shall be please to help if you so wish,
Suman

Subject: Conferences
Hi,
I am currently an intercalating medical student. I am interested in getting
a
poster presentation on a project I have been working on. The project is a
systematic review on socioeconomic factors associated with common mental
disorder in ethinic minorties in the UK. I was wondering if you could advise
me
about any relevant Psychiatric conferences being held in the next few months
or how I would go about finding out about one?
Thank you.
Regards,
Alishbah Syed
