A PhD studentship based at Sheffield Hallam University is available as part of the Inequalities Implementation Theme of the National
Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration in Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care for South Yorkshire (SYCLAHRC).
This ambitious 5 year programme involves partnership between Sheffield Hallam University, the University of Sheffield and the
surrounding NHS and 3rd sector organisations of South Yorkshire. It focuses on improving patient outcomes through the conduct and
application of applied health research and service design in the areas of chronic long-term conditions, self management, health
inequalities and public health.
The PhD studentship will be based within the Centre for Health & Social Care Research at SHU and will focus on one of the following
areas:
* access to healthcare among people with learning disabilities
* inequalities in early diagnosis of chronic illness
* chronic health conditions and worklessness
Proposals that give due consideration to ethnic diversity are encouraged.
