The Career Development Group London & South East Divisions invites you to
our Annual General Meeting 2009.
Join us on Wednesday 25 February at 6:00pm at the Weston Room, Maughan
Library, King's College, London
Come along and make the most of an opportunity to meet fellow library and
information professionals from a range of sectors and workplaces across the
region.
The AGM will be followed by a presentation and interactive session on "Making
connections through Living Library: sharing knowledge, experience and
passion". This will be led by Linda Constable.
Further Details
This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the Living Library
concept and how it can help us in diverse sectors in developing networks and
partnerships. The evening will comprise an overview of the Living Library, a
timeline and the main organising themes and a Library and Information Career
related Living Library session. The session is aimed at all library and information
sectors.
There will also be a raffle to raise money for international projects.
This event is free. Refreshments will be provided.

Background - Linda Constable
Linda Constable is a library and information consultant and has worked in the
cultural sector for over 30 years with strategic management experience at a
regional and local authority level, having worked in public and academic
libraries and the museum sector. Linda has a particular interest in community
engagement, staff development and IT with a focus on developing and
transforming services in partnership with staff and communities. Linda is an
active member of CILIP: currently CILIP Community Services Group Vice Chair
and Umbrella representative; Chair of CILIP Libraries Change Lives Judging
Panel; working with CILIP staff to develop the CILIP Campaigning Toolkit. Linda
is also an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner.
Linda is a Living Library UK Expert and has worked with a number of Living
library projects and organisers workshops across the UK with Kevin Harris,
Living Library Expert, including MLA Local Living Library Project (Bournemouth,
Bradford, Kent and Staffordshire) which received a Commendation at the
Award for Bridging Cultures 2008 for intercultural dialogue. Living Library is now
attracting interest from other library authorities and organisations in the UK as
an innovative way of connecting with diverse and intercultural local
communities.
