Subject: Using voice recordings in VLE
Hi
I had a request to look into implications for using recorded tutor feedback (in Wav format) within the Blackboard VLE, I was particularly thinking of confidentiality and data protection issues. The student would recieve their feedback as a wav file in a private message, this would of course be the voice of a tutor and there would be no recording of students. I don't think there are any data protection issues here, although there are of course confidentiality issues and accessibility implications. Of course this will also require guidelines for practitioners involved to compose feedback appropriately.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of doing this kind of thing and any legal issues they took into account..?
many thanks
Paul
