Dear Colleague!
This is the second call for papers to the European Conference on
Cognitive Ergonomics 2009 http://ecce2009.vtt.fi. It will take place in
September 30-October 2, 2009 in Helsinki, Finland.
The deadline of abstracts is 16th March 2009. We invite you to submit
long paper, short paper, or poster abstracts (long paper abstract 1000
words, short paper and poster abstracts 500 words). The submission
system is available at http://ecce2009.vtt.fi/submission.htm.
For doctoral students we organise the Doctoral Consortium the aim of
which is to provide an opportunity for PhD students to participate in
multi-disciplinary in-depth discussions of their work with fellow
students and a panel of experts. The Doctoral Consortium will take place
on 29 September 2009 at VTT Technical Research Centre in Otaniemi. The
deadline of application is 16th April 2009.
DESIGNING BEYOND THE PRODUCT -
UNDERSTANDING ACTIVITY AND USER EXPERIENCE IN UBIQUITOUS ENVIRONMENTS
ECCE 2009 will be held in 30 September - 2 October 2009 in Helsinki,
Finland. The event is organised by the European Association of Cognitive
Ergonomics and hosted by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. ECCE
2009 focuses on the topic "Designing beyond the product - Understanding
activity and user experience in ubiquitous environments".
MAIN THEMES
* Challenges in work and everyday activities: Does the invisible
computer change our ways of acting?
* Means for coping: How to support sense making in ubiquitous
environments?
* Research and design approaches: What is happening to cognitive
systems engineering?
IMPORTANT DATES
* 20th January 2009: First call for papers
* 16th March 2009: Submission of abstracts for short and long
papers and posters
* 20th April 2009: Notification of acceptance
* May 2009: Conference programme released on the web pages
* 31st July 2009: Submission of camera-ready papers
* 26th August 2009: Early registration ends
* 14th September 2009: Late registration ends
Further information of the programme and details for submission of
papers will be released by the end of January 2009.
