Thank you to everyone who responded to my enquiry about school milk and
for the time and trouble you have all taken concerning my enquiry.
I think I should have made it rather clearer in my email to the list that I was
interested in actual school records, ie Board of Governors' Minutes, children's
health registers, correspondence, etc, of individual schools, which might throw
light on the matter of the issuing of milk to schoolchildren from the schools'
perspective and experience and not from that of officialdom: the government,
local authorities, milk suppliers, etc.
From the responses I have received, it would appear that no discussion, views
or record was especially noted by any schools at any time since milk was first
supplied/withdrawn/re-supplied...which is interesting in itself.
Of course it may be that information/"feedback" from schools does survive in
government and local authority files, and all references to these records have
been noted, together with details of collections of promotional material.
Thank you all once again.
