Dear Chloe
At Portsmouth we have had an Impact Assessment Co-ordinator in post for
three years now. The post started as a full-time, fixed-term, three
year post but is now permanent. The post holder is within the Equality
and Diversity Unit and managed by me.
The Impact Assessment Co-ordinator has been responsible for developing
and implementing an appropriate model for undertaking equality impact
assessment and now coordinates the process. Latterly he has also
delivered training on equality impact assessment. He also provides a
great deal of support to departments undertaking impact assessments by
providing them with data reports, other supporting information and
advice. He also convenes the equality impact assessment panels through
which we involve staff and students from equality target groups in the
process.
If you would like to know any more please feel free to contact me.
Regards
Alex

Hi all,
I was wondering how many of your institutions have a specific job
role/s created solely for conducting EIAs? Are they fixed term? Are they
Full Time or Part Time? And where in your institution does this position
sit?
Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Chloë
