Position: Research Associate
Department of Pharmacology
University of Cambridge
Applications are invited for a Research Associate to assist with imaging
investigations of rodent models of neurodegenerative disease, in
collaboration with the Laboratory for Molecular Imaging. The project will
involve the use of MR and PET scanners and subsequent image analysis to
investigate changes in brain structure and morphology in both transgenic and
neurochemical animal models of Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases.
You must be a careful and methodical worker, self-motivated and able to
conduct experiments and analyse data independently. Careful observation and
accurate record keeping are essential. The post will require some weekend
work and a flexible approach to working hours.
Applicants should have a PhD in physics, preferably in MRI or NMR. A
background in data and image analysis (especially VBM and DBM) or
statistical methods is desirable. Experience of C, C++ and parallel
computing would be highly desirable. Experience of PET scanning would be
advantageous.
