The first meeting of the Social Policy Association special interest group on 'Social Policy and Welfare Service User Involvement' will be held at the annual SPA Conference in Edinburgh 2009. The meeting will take place in
Seminar Room 1Chrystal Macmillan Building, 15A George Square on
Tuesday 30th June 2009 between 17.30 and 18.30.
This meeting will see the election/appointment of a convenor(s), consider the remit and aims of the group and discuss future publication plans.
If you are interested in joining the proposed SPA special interest group please send an email to [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> stating:
I am interested in joining the WSU special interest group.
Additionally, if you are willing to act as a convenor for the proposed WSU interest group please add the following message to your reply:
I would be willing to act as convenor for the SPA WSU interest group.
Also please note the following:
1. If you have responded to the previous email asking if you would be interested in this event (sent on 28/10/08) you DO NOT have to respond again. Your email has already been logged.
2. A sum of £500 has been applied for to help meet some of the travel costs of users, without access to travel budgets, who may wish to attend the meeting. The amount payable to each person to support travel costs will depend on overall demand.
3. User organisations may also be interested in organisational membership of the SPA.
