Postdoctoral Research Associate - Transportation Security
Job Description - The Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center at the Edward
J. Bloustein School of Planning and Pubic Policy, Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral
research associate in the area of transportation security and emergency
management. The successful candidate will conduct research and development
on topics related to transportation security, risk assessment, transit
system vulnerability assessment, all-hazards regional evacuation planning,
behavioral response to natural and man-made disasters and public health
threats. The candidate will also work with senior faculty and staff at the
center to pursue external funding for research involving application of
social science and analytical skills to transportation security issues.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in transportation planning or
engineering, public policy, economics, geography, sociology, psychology or
other closely related field. Candidate should have significant knowledge and
interest in analysis of transportation policy and security issues as
demonstrated by research, publications, consulting and conference
presentations. Candidate should have experience with, and sophisticated
knowledge of, advanced statistical techniques for the social sciences.
Candidate should have demonstrated ability to write effectively and give
effective presentations. Experience with curriculum development and teaching
is desirable.
