Post-Doc Research Associate - Urban Water Management
Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
The Post
The Sustainable Water Management Research Group is seeking to recruit a
researcher to our team to work on a high profile part of the SAWA
Interreg IVB Project - a pan-European 8.2 million Euro project involving
more than 20 partners in five countries; Norway, Sweden, the
Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. The project, for which
Heriot-Watt is the UK lead partner, aims to investigate "adaptive" flood
risk management within the context of the EU Floods Directive and the
Water Framework Directive. This work will focus on the engineering,
social and capacity issues associated with flood risk management plans.
The Candidate
Ideally, you will have a PhD (or other relevant research experience) in
one of the following fields: civil engineering; environmental science;
or earth science. The post is ideal for an individual with research
experience which includes urban drainage systems (particularly SuDS)
and/or urban watercourse management. As the project will include
contributing to meetings with project partners and stakeholders
(including members of the public) a good command of English is
essential.
