Hello all,
In the text of Philip Sidney's famous letter of advice on travel to
young Robert, he says:
For yf you should travell, but to travell, or to saye you haue
travelled,
certainly you should proue a pilgrime to noe sainte.
That expression sounds vaguely proverbial to me, but I've not been
able to find it on the web, and don't own a copy of Tilley. Does the
phrase ring any bells with anyone?
Many thanks,
Roger Kuin
