APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING
The next meeting of the Records Management Society, Local Government
Group, will take place on Friday March 27th at the Westminster Archives
Centre.
Theme: Raising the profile of Records Managers and Records Management
There has been a lot of discussion over recent months about how records
managers can quantify and benchmark the value of the work that they do so
that when the function is re-organised, or jobs are re-graded they come out
at the right grade.
The day will be a mixture of presentations and discussions and I am hoping
that at the end of the day we might be able to put together a basic document
which deals with generic job descriptions, methods of calculating return on
investment, and so on which will be available via the RMS website for use by
practitioners.
The agenda will be uploaded to http://www.rms-gb.org.uk/sigs/local-
government/meetings/885 in the next few days.
Preference will be given to RMS members until two weeks before the event
when it will be opened up to all other interested delegates. Please state if you
are a member when you sign up for the day and quote your membership
number. If you are not a member I will add your name to the secondary list
and these places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on March
13th. If you would like to attend please contact [log in to unmask]
