How is it, I put it to the editors of the U of SC Press, that after you have
hunted down, flushed out & ruthlessly eradicated the merest hyphen in the
most inconsequential of back-page annotations, that you have managed to
overlook the most glaring hyphen of them all, namely the hyphen in the
*title* of the book itself? Hadn't they better remove that as well, just
for consistency's sake?

They declined to answer. The hyphen remained.
