Greetings
I wonder if any NHS PCT people are looking at how they might equality
impact assess the move to autonomous provider organisations and the
various 'world class' commissioning arrangements (in south east London
we are looking at relationships in at least 4 tiers)? We have had a go
at screening some of the headline proposals and are now looking at how
to screen our Organisational Development Plan but things are moving very
fast and it is proving quite a task to do something that actually
contributes to decision making.
I have seen some DH guidance this morning
(http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/News/DH_4015576 ) that mentions we must
equality impact assess the effects on staff in the provider services
document but what about patients and the health of the public?
Any thoughts and ideas welcome.
And about continuation of the e-group; I'm not leaving. The discussion
and information is very useful to me - thanks to one an all. My only
minor gripe is the reams of formatting text I get in the digests (nearly
5 000 lines in the last one) because I can't receive attachments/
pictures etc so if people could keep this to a minimum that would really
help me.
Best wishes
Sarah
