I noticed there is now a bid against this item and wouldn't want to bid
against a fellow list member.
In fact it is NOT the sumpter pot that interests me but the wheels that are
being sold with he item.
The SGMRG have a Wooden Colliery tub from one of the local pits but it has
no wheels. It would be nice to add some for display purposes We do have a
set of wheels from a different tub base from a different colliery but as
that is also a rare survivor and we know it's origin it would be a shame to
destroy that to restore the other.
If any member knows of a set of tub wheels that are surplus to requirements
(especially if the origin and history is uncertain) please let me know. If
you are the person bidding on the Sumpter pot and aren't interested in the
wheels, again please let me know
Regards
David

Subject: [MINING-HISTORY] Sumpter Pot - Nenthead
Dear All,
Noticed this on again and thought that someone on the List might know of a
suitable collector or Museum that might be interested. I have no idea of
provenance obviously, but it's in the right sort of area at least.
Regards, Bernard
