Are you looking for;
1. Articles published in UK based journals (won't always be UK authors)
2. Articles written by UK based authors (not always in UK based
journals)
3. Articles about the UK
Using the 'Great Britain' index terms will only find things where the UK
is in some way a subject.
You can search for UK, England, Wales, Scotland etc etc in the text as
in the previous example and this should pick up most but it's not 100%
reliable. It also relies on students knowing their way around the
search interface in enough detail to cope with it!
It may be quicker for them to restrict to English as a language and
sift!

I don't know about limiting the journals to UK in Medline, but there is
a Thesaurus term GREAT BRITAIN which is used for Great Britain, United
Kingdom, Isle of Man.
Also Great Britain > Channel Islands > Jersey
Great Britain > England > London
Great Britain > Hebrides
> Northern Ireland
> Scotland
> Wales

National Library for Health Search 2.0:
Search History:
1. MEDLINE; "United Kingdom".af OR UK.af OR "Great Britain".af OR
England.af OR Scotland.af OR Wales.af OR Ireland.af; 3592846 results.
2. MEDLINE; "United Kingdom".in OR UK.in OR "Great Britain".in OR
England.in OR Scotland.in OR Wales.in OR Ireland.in; 693988 results.
3. MEDLINE; 1 OR 2; 3592847 results.
I'm not familiar with the Ebsco version of Medline but I would've
thought it would come up with the same results.

Hello
Any tips on how to limit searches to UK only on MEDLINE (pref. Ebsco
version?). This is something students ask me a lot and although it can
be done on other Ebsco databases using the journal subset limiter, I
can't find a similar function in MEDLINE.
I've tried emailing Ebsco but have had no response as yet.
Any help much appreciated.
