New course helps information professionals face the challenges of the digital age.
Do you feel up to speed with the latest technologies and how they are impacting on your library and your customers? Can you and your staff rise to the challenge of the new digital world and prove the value of your information service?
A brand new course, The Evolving Information Professional has just been launched by The Open University which raises awareness and understanding of the issues and challenges facing libraries, archives and information services.
During the course you will explore the impact that changes in the media and publishing industries are having on customer expectations. Engaging with sections such as 'New Learners' will enable you to investigate the major shifts in learning and some of the emerging information behaviours of the Digital Age.
The course is "chunked" into convenient 1-2 hour elements to enable you to spread your skills development to keep pace with your work patterns. This builds to 30 hours of learning, with a certificate on completion.
Discounts are available for members of professional bodies such as CILIP, which has awarded The Open University a Seal of Recognition.
