INASP Library Programme Officer
Salary: £25,000-£30,000 (with non-contributory pension)
INASP (the International Network for the Availability of Scientific
Publications) is seeking to appoint a new member of staff to work on a
range of library and ICT training activities. Working with INASP
Programme staff the post-holder will develop, deliver, monitor and
evaluate a range of library, information use and management, and
ICT-related training activities for librarians, researchers and
academics in a large number of developing and transitional countries.
We are seeking applicants with:
* Professional library qualification or significant library
experience
* Experience of running hands-on library or ICT related training
* Ability to design and run workshop-based training programmes
* Experience of working with electronic information resources
* High level of written and oral skills
* Good presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all
levels
* Team-working skills but also the ability to work independently
and on own initiative to strict time lines
* Excellent multi-tasking skills
The range of salary indicates INASP's desire to encourage early career
professionals as well as those who already have experience in the
relevant sectors to consider applying.
Hours and work patterns
Full time (35 hours pw), Oxford based. This post will involve overseas
travel of circa 40-50 days per year to developing countries in all parts
of the world (average trip duration 5-7 days). Candidates should be
prepared and willing to undertake such travel.
