We have done this at UCL. We had problems making Metalib work directly
with Shibboleth, so instead, the authentication was configured to call a
Perl CGI script, which runs under Apache in a directory protected by
Shibboleth. We have been using this for several years without any
problems. I don't know the details of configuring Metalib to
authenticate in this way, but could find out from our Library people.
