Thank you very much to those of you who have responded to the web
metrics survey. There's now some really useful comparative information
coming in.
If you haven't yet filled in a questionnaire, below are the details. Any
information you can provide would be gratefully received. Once we have a
good set of results in we'll circulate a summary so that techniques can
be compared and good practice shared.
All the best,
Dan.

HEIRNET (the Historic Environment Information Resources Network) is
currently conducting a survey looking at how different historic
environment information providers collect and analyse web statistics.
Do you employ web statistics as a method of gauging the popularity of
your web resource? In what ways do you gather them, and what types of
user behaviour are you seeking to analyse?
At present there is a wide variety of practice in web statistical
techniques across the sector, making it difficult to compare data in a
meaningful way.
By conducting this survey, we hope to gain a clearer understanding about
the methods used by different web resource providers in the historic
environment. The results will be drawn together and circulated so that
techniques can be compared and good practice shared.
Please do take a few minutes to fill in this survey. It consists of a
series of very short questions, and don't worry if you can't answer all
of them. Any information you can provide will be useful.
The web survey is here: http://tinyurl.com/4hazet
Thank you in advance - your help is much appreciated!
Best wishes,
Dan.
