Dear All,
Further to Ian Crawford's email, I on behalf of the British Geophysical
Association am seeking suggestions and convenors for the 2010 "New Advances
in Geophysics" 2-day meeting, on February 11th and 12th (Thursday and Friday), 2010,
at Burlington House, London. Funding for speakers is available. The Bullerwell
Lecture and the BGA's AGM take place during this meeting.
We seek a topic in which the latest and most exciting geophysical research
is taking place. The last two meetings were on Geophysics of Global Climate
Change (2008) and New Techniques and Discoveries in Marine Geophysics (2007),
and this coming February sees "New Views of the Earth's Interior" (12-13 February;
see www.geophysics.org.uk under "Meetings and Events", where you can register online).
The February slot is firmly booked with the RAS, so all we need is your
ideas and offers to convene. We should like to support the geophysics community
in using other RAS "G" meeting slots, although at present we have little additional
budget for them.
Please do contact me with suggestions of topics and convenors (you can ring
01189 827260 if you would like to discuss your ideas).
Regards,
Sheila Peacock
(Meetings Secretary, BGA).
