"A multilevel approach to understanding the aetiology of work-related health and well-being: Linking individual and organisational factors"

Applications are invited for the above ESRC-funded post examining the organisational-level determinants of work-related health and well-being, using a longitudinal and multi-level approach. Although the roles of the wider organisational environment, policies and practices related to health and well-being have often been highlighted as potentially important for individual and organisational health, an integrated multilevel approach to their study has not been used before. The study is funded by the ESRC and led by Dr Maria Karanika-Murray.

Candidates should be educated at postgraduate level (ideally with PhD), in an area related to organisational/work psychology or occupational health psychology. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, literature reviews, dealing with external bodies, development of project materials, data collection and analysis, and report-writing. They should have experience in managing applied research, and have excellent written communication, oral communication, and organisational skills. A strong background and relevant experience in research methods and data analysis is essential. However, training in technical skills will be provided as necessary. This post is ideal as a first post-doc position.

Nottingham Trent University has an excellent reputation for its theoretically-informed applied research and one of the largest academic units of Psychology in the UK with over 45 academic staff. Psychology has a lively and friendly community of applied psychologists and provides a varied portfolio of vocational MSc taught courses. This ESRC-funded study aims to contribute substantially to this research on work-related health and related methodological issues.
