Hello Everyone
You might be interested in the latest posting on Phil Barker's blog where he
ponders the feasibility of having a single identifier to link together all the
instances of a learning resource (see "Identifiers for UK OER Works" -
http://blogs.cetis.ac.uk/philb/2009/01/21/identifiers-for-uk-oer-works/).
For those of you who have looked at the IMS AccessForAll Metadata
Specification (see http://wiki.cetis.ac.uk/ACCMD_Briefing for a short overview
or http://www.imsglobal.org/accessibility/#accmd for the real thing), you will
realise that the idea of trying to link alternative versions of the same resource
together is nothing new. However, is it possible or feasible to have a single
URL for all alternative formats (i.e. the same URL whether it is the video or
text or audio format) so that if one is not available then it is easy to find an
alternative version?
If you have any comments, then let Phil know (comments section available at
the bottom of his blog post).
Best Regards
Sharon.
