The Centre for Interactive Systems Engineering (CISE) based under the lead partnership of Ouak.net based in Nimes, France; and in partnership with Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Université de Toulouse and Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona), have obtained EU funding, under the Framework 7 People Project, for the Euro-CAT-CSCL project.
The project is concerned with the design, construction, deployment and evaluation of a Collaboration Awareness Tool (CAT) for Computer Supported Collaborative Learners (CSCL). The main objective of the research is to provide end users with a tool allowing them to increase their collaboration and learning capabilities by bringing situational context information of their learning team partners.
The LSBU contribution to the project will be in the areas of designing for usability, particularly user centred design techniques and usability evaluation. A research fellow in Human Computer Interaction is required for a period of 22 months commenting April 2009 (or as soon as possible thereafter). Applicants must hold a PhD or have equivalent research experience and have knowledge and experience in the general field of usability engineering, particularly in the areas of user centred design and usability evaluation.
The salary is in the range of £29,704 - £35,469 per annum, plus of £3,103 London Weighting per annum. (And possibly an annual supplement to ensure compliance with an agreed EU rate.)
