New Deadline: 30 January, 2009
Dear Colleague,
PETRA'09, the SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PERVASIVE
TECHNOLOGIES RELATED TO ASSISTIVE ENVIRONMENTS (PETRA'09)
CORFU, GREECE JUNE 9-13, 2008.
The Website is : http://www.petrae.org/
This PETRA conference aims to promote research and discovery in
pervasive technologies related to Assistive Environments. Technical
topics may range from wireless networks, devices, robotic
assistants, and nanotechnologies, to computational systems for
secure data sharing, image processing, video analysis, data mining,
pattern analysis, user interfaces, multimodal information retrieval,
databases and other areas.
We believe that every house and every working environment needs such
technologies at some point in time or at locations where persons
with special needs live and function. The appropriate
digital/physical design of how to use pervasive technologies is an
important factor in improving the quality of life of persons in
need. Such persons may range from the aged, persons who have
experienced trauma, persons with Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis,
small children, or persons who have special learning needs.
PETRA'09 is a human-centered conference that brings together
computer and pervasive technologies to the service of humanity, not
the other way around. PETRA'09 also aims at developing sustainable
and low cost solutions for assistive environments by extracting the
best methods from multiple disciplines and even across fields.
The proceedings are with ACM, A special registration prices will
apply to students. We hope you will be able to join us in Corfu in
June of 2009.
