Professor Xinzhong Yao asked me to circulate the enclosed information:
King's College London wishes to appoint a Lecturer who will be a cross-
appointment of the King's China Institute and a mainstream King's
department/division.
The field for the appointment is open, with the expectation that the
appointee
will be aligned with an academic unit appropriate to her/his field of
research.
Themes of particular interest for the appointment are China and global
politics, creative and cultural industries, ethics and governance,
entrepreneurship and development, environment, film, the health of urban
populations, China in world history, security, and urban restructuring.
The post holder is expected to conduct and publish high-quality, original
research in their own field. A track record in research income generation
and
PhD supervision will be an advantage. The appointee is expected to have
enthusiasm for research, teaching and scholarship on China, with an ability
to
motivate and support other academic staff, along with students. An ability
to
teach well is anticipated. It will be an advantage if the appointee bring
and/or develops links with the Chinese community within London, as well as
building links with relevant institutions and agencies in China.
The salary for this post will be within the range £32,917 to £47,253 per
annum
including London Allowance. G6/AAI/009/09.
