British Academy of Management (BAM 2009)
Brighton Centre, Brighton, UK, 15-17 September 2009
Cultural and Creative Industries Track

At the Bam conference 2008, the Cultural and Creative Industries Track
collaborated with Gender in Management; E-Business and E-Government and
Identity for special paper sessions, symposia and a workshop. Following
this success, we have organised the following special sessions for 2009.
Alongside our normal paper sessions we would like to invite authors to
submit to the following two joint sessions.

E-Business and the Cultural and Creative Industries.
Finola Kerrigan, Dirk vom Lehn and Feng Li

Following the success at BAM2008, this year we will once again organise
a special joint session between the E-Business and E-Government Track
and the Creative and Cultural Industries Track. We would like to invite
papers which examine (but not limited to) the following issues:

*	The impact which technological changes and e-business have had
upon the cultural and creative industries
*	How new technologies have changed creative work, introduced new
financial models and changed how customers engage with creative and
cultural industries.
*	The interplay between E-Business and the Creative and Cultural
Industries are welcome as are papers from a wide range of methodological
and theoretical perspectives.

We invite papers for a special session examining the intersection of
cultural and creative industries and hospitality, tourism and leisure.
Many cities and regions highlight the cultural and creative industries
in their leisure and tourism campaigns and many visitors plan to visit
attractions due to the cultural institutions or events within their

by its association with film, music or literature. Papers may wish to

*	place marketing and cultural events
*	leisure, hospitality and tourism campaigns and the intersection
with the cultural and creative industries
*	the importance of film, music and literature in developing

Peter McInnes, Dirk vom Lehn and Finola Kerrigan

Following a thought provoking workshop on issues of identify in the
cultural and creative industries at the BAM 2008 conference, we would
like to invite papers which examine issues of identify within the
cultural and creative industries. For many working in this sector,
their occupation is a key element of their wider identity, similarly,
consumption of cultural and creative products may be influenced by and
influence issues of identity. Papers may wish to examine (but are not
limited to) the following themes:
*	Identity work in the cultural and creative industries
