Well, there are probably lots of possibilities, Chris, but one, that
certainly does collate images, tall tales, journalism, etc, is Michael
Ondaatje's The Collected Works of Billy the Kid.
And then his novels do much the same, accumulate material, but not in
the usual, narrative, order. allowing the readers to fit the pieces
together themselves to some degree....
