Aloha,
Some well-known Pagan podcasters recently shut down their operation
and announced that they had pretty much "outgrown Paganism" and
had moved on to atheism. This announcement has caused a lot of
blogging about converting to and out of Paganism, what "Paganism"
actually is and what to call it, and the part Pagan intellectuals play in
overall Paganism and why some would depart for "brainier" pastures,
what's involved in relating with deities or not relating to them at all.
Probably the most useful way to track down most of this blogging is to
do a search for something like "outgrowing Paganism." Then click around
the often linked blog posts.
I share this with list members because questions about becoming a Pagan
and/or unbecoming one, what Pagans imagine Paganism to be and what to
call it, the role of intellectuals in Paganism and attaining
intellectual legitimacy,
what it means to believe in deities vs. not, trendy spiritualities, and
other
such are all of some interest here.
Some list members may discover some blog posts worthy of saving for
